Our Practice Proudly Signs the Armed Forces Covenant
We are delighted to announce that on 13th May 2025 at RAF Shawbury, our GP practice officially signed the Armed Forces Covenant represented by your Practice Manager, Rick Mills reaffirming our commitment to supporting serving personnel, veterans, and their families.
What is the Armed Forces Covenant?
The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge to ensure that those who serve, or have served, in the British Armed Forces—and their families—are treated with fairness and respect. By signing the Covenant, we recognise the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces community and are dedicated to providing them with the best possible care and support.
Our Commitment to the Armed Forces Community
As an Armed Forces-friendly practice, we are committed to:
- Prioritising healthcare needs of serving personnel, veterans, and their families.
- Supporting veterans with tailored healthcare services, including mental health and physical wellbeing.
- Recognising the unique challenges faced by military families, such as frequent relocations and deployments.
- Providing flexible access to appointments where possible, understanding the demands of military life.
- Raising awareness among our staff to better understand and meet the needs of the Armed Forces community.
How We Support Veterans & Serving Personnel
We understand that veterans and serving personnel may have specific health needs related to their service. Our practice offers:
- Dedicated veteran health checks to address service-related conditions.
- Mental health support, including referrals to specialist services where needed.
- Help with accessing military-specific healthcare pathways (e.g., Veterans’ Mental Health Services).
- A welcoming and understanding environment where military personnel and their families feel valued.
