We are part of the Shrewsbury Primary Care Network, made up of 15 GP practices in and around Shrewsbury who have come together to commission and provide a range of extra services for patients that we wouldn’t be able to do as individual practices. NHS England are actively encouraging practices to collaborate together in this way to help relieve some of the workforce pressures and GP shortages we face in the NHS.
We currently work with the following partner organisations to deliver additional services:
Organisation | Service delivered |
Suvera | Long-term condition reviews |
Primary Care Physio | First contact physiotherapist |
Primary Care Dietitians | Dietitians |
Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust | Clinical pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians |
Shropshire Council | Social prescribers |
All of these providers are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). We have signed data processing agreements with each partner which allows each of them to process data only upon our instruction and each are bound by contractual agreements to ensure information is kept confidential and secure. They each act as a data processor for the GP practice and the clinical staff members act as processors in the same way that practice staff, locums or independent contractors do.
Shrewsbury Primary Care Network has signed contracts with each organisation on our behalf. All staff working with the practice undergo DBS checks, reference checks, right to work checks, ID checks and as required clinical licence checks.
For more information, please refer to the practice’s privacy notice under the partner organisation section.
Many conditions will get better on their own and can be treated successfully at home. These notes are for guidance only. Any patient or relative who is concerned about a complaint because of its severity, persistence or failure to improve with appropriate measures should, of course, contact the surgery for further advice.
Some services that are provided at the surgery are not covered by the NHS. The following are services for which an appropriate charge will be made:-
For immunisation please call to book an appointment for each child. Any queries with your immunisation appointment can be dealt with by Child Health Department on 01785 221151 or by leaving a message with the reception staff.
Please contact Reception to book an appointment through Darwin, as they are not held at our practice.
Certain doctors carry out regular minor surgery clinics each month. If your doctor agrees that you require minor surgery you will be offered one of these appointments.
